Even she’s majoring in public relations, Web Marketing Intern Kirsten Knott describes how interning at 1-800-FLOWERS.COM has her thinking about her future career path:
“I have learned so many valuable insights from my internship at 1-800-FLOWERS.COM, but the main thing I’ve gained here is a newfound direction. I have always known I wanted to pursue a career in public relations, but I was unsure of what type of company or industry I wanted to work in. During my internship, I had the opportunity to observe and experience the dynamics of a company that cares. Everyone I have had the opportunity to meet has not only been dedicated to their job, but also to the Summer of a Million Smiles initiative. It’s refreshing and reassuring to know that such a large company has managed to leverage its business success to give back to the community. As a graduating senior, I now know that I want to find a career that balances both professional and ethical success at a company that understands the magnitude of giving back. My time here has given me confidence that I won’t lose what is important to me once I enter the workforce.”
