When you stop at one of the many local farm stands to pick up fresh locally grown fruit and vegetables, a bunch of sunflowers is a must.

They’re sunny, beautiful, last long, inexpensive, and just scream summertime!

They can elevate a simple picnic or add a special touch to a little wine and cheese break.

Spread the sunflower love around by cutting the stems short and placing just a few in a mason jar and place around your home to add a little sunshine to every room.

Making a sunflower topiary is another great way to display fresh sunflowers.

The container that you use contributes to the final look too. A terra cotta planter gives a nice rustic garden look while the white ceramic wine coolers above feel brighter and lighter.
Making a sunflower topiary is much easier than it looks. Here’s what you’ll need:
- Container (if the container isn’t waterproof you will need to use a liner such as a plastic bag)
- floral foam
- sunflowers (I find that 6 stems make a nice size topiary.)
- waterproof tape
- raffia or ribbon
- moss
Now watch the how to video below and you’ll be making sunflower topiaries in no time!
